Two-Year-Olds and Bunnies Hop About

Filed under: Children, Family, Uncategorized — generationsphotography @ 8:24 pm

I love two-year-olds! I mean, photographing them anyway. They are full of spunk and funny faces. They love to be in front of the camera and enjoy playing with their family. It’s a great age to get fun, spontaneous shots.

A special thank you to Misty for letting me borrow Alice, the bunny!

A couple weeks ago on Facebook, I let my fans know about a new photography package I’m working on. This shoot represents the style I’m after which I guess you could describe as “child-centered”. I will post a blog soon, that will hopefully clearly describe the session experience you can expect.

My Best,

Jenna♥

What to Wear?!

Filed under: Uncategorized — generationsphotography @ 8:41 pm

I get asked this question EVERY time I schedule a session and I also think it’s a very important thing to consider. Strangely enough, the less blood sweat and tears that go into finding the perfect outfits, the better you’ll enjoy your experience. And, I will tell you from experience, all that planning is useless.

I say, let the kids dress themselves, then find the adults outfits that compliment them in terms of color. Designs and patterns aren’t anything to be afraid of! In fact, I encourage a little flair! Fun hats, tutus, scarves, plaid shoes… GREAT! I personally, love to to photograph the details anyhow, and the more flair you wear, the more creative I get to be.

In case you DO like to have examples or visual representations, I’ve found some outfit combinations that seem to really POP! So have fun, I promise you’ll look great, even if you aren’t all wearing jeans and white t-shirts. 🙂

4th Avenue is FUN!

Filed under: Family — generationsphotography @ 7:51 pm

I have been up to my eyeballs in work these past few weeks and so, have a lot of catching up to do here on my blog. Little man starts preschool tomorrow, which will be great for both of us. He LOVES his school, and I LOVE to get my work done. It’s really a win-win.

This past weekend, I did a very quick session on 4th Ave. It was so sticky and hot, but the lighting was great and the colors were even better. I do love lots of funk!

Here are a few shots from the session of this cute mother, daughter, and Aunt trio! My favorites are the ones with the playing cards. I’m a sucker for individuality, personality and uniqueness in all my sessions.

My Best,

Sabino Makes Hearts Happy! (including mine)

Filed under: Couples — generationsphotography @ 7:17 pm

It was nearly dusk when we hit the trail for this shoot. Despite our time restriction, we (mostly them) climbed up, down, and in between to get the targeted shots.

These two were up for anything, and I was happy to tap into my “photographer’s storage bank of photo ideas”. Sometimes, as a photographer (or maybe all artists do this), I create a photograph in my head and wait for the perfect time to use it. I find it most difficult to keep the idea in hiding for so long, but it is always well worth it in the end. Some examples from this session: heart in sand image, kissing under the tree, and the sunset silhouette. Yay for getting to use THREE ideas into one session!

Prince Family

Filed under: Children, Family — generationsphotography @ 10:29 pm

You gotta love three yr. olds! Especially this cutie pie. She was more concerned with finding a way to roll down the hill, practice her ballet moves, and singing than the photo session. Luckily though, my children are the exact same ages as these little ones, which made entertaining them a tad bit easier.

The best part was when I tried to be really clever, and made up a story about a mouse that wanted some cheese. On the count of three, we were all planning on saying “cheese” (for the mouse, ya know), but instead we heard a nice, loud “FOUR!” We got some genuine smiles out of that one!

Thank you Prince Family!

McPeak Family

Filed under: Children, Family — generationsphotography @ 1:01 am

This session was relatively quick when it comes to photographing a family of five. The children were exceptionally cooperative and full of adorable grins.

We ended our session with a portrait for Mom. After all, it was Mother’s Day weekend and she deserves such!

Enjoy!

It’s a Sister Thing!

Filed under: Children, Family, Senior — generationsphotography @ 2:13 am

I know how awesome sisterly love really is. I’ve got two sisters! And I have to say, there’s nothing like having a built-in best friend. It was so sweet to watch these beautiful young women share giggles and choose outfits (including some mega-heels) during our session.

Thank you girls for a fabulous session. And, thank you Mom for driving to two separate locations. We got a great variety of shots despite our little setback at the tracks. Lesson learned on this shoot: locations can be tricky.

My Best,

Jenna

McCallister Family

What a fantastic group of people! I have NEVER been late for a session, however, there’s a first time for everything! I didn’t really even have an excuse. I thought I knew the time. Why do I trust my post-pregnancy brain? Fortunately, these guys were super forgiving. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What an adorable pair of grandchildren! They made me laugh with all their commentary. “Do we have to sit here all day?” and “I think this would make a good picture.” Too cute!

I really enjoyed my morning with you, and I hope you enjoyed your post-session lunch with your family.

Jenna

Save the Date!

Filed under: Couples — generationsphotography @ 2:26 am

I’ll start by stating, “I LOVE shooting in downtown Tucson!” Every session I’ve done there has turned out to be so colorful, unique, and fun. I always discover something new, and usually something funky. It’s great!

These lovebirds are all geared up for their big wedding day in October and were very willing to try something different. The three of us were shocked by the outcome of this first image. Are they meant for each other?  Um YES, I think so.

My Best,

Jenna
