Ensio Family

Filed under: Family — generationsphotography @ 8:35 pm

While I was at this session, I kept thinking how great it would be to have someone photograph me with my two sisters. We don’t have any recent photographs of the three of us, and especially not candid photos of us just goofing around or laughing about nothing. So, I sure hope these images remind each of these BEAUTIFUL young ladies of this time in their lives.

Oh, and this dog… LOVED him! He was incredible to photograph and the sweetest little guy in general. I need to photograph more pets…

It’s Time for Sister Love!

Filed under: Children, Family — generationsphotography @ 8:07 pm

Strangely enough, this is my first time photographing my sister’s family formally. Every other time I’ve attempted to get a shot of her family, I have my own monkeys climbing on me or hoping to steal the show. Alas, I set aside an hour to be alone with them and was able to use one of my absolute favorite locations.

My nephew is one of the BEST big brothers in the universe. He engages the twins in such creative play and they adore him. Most of the session the girls spent looking for a tiger in the “forest” (obvious desert dwellers). I was so happy to capture a sweet shot of Candace building a nest for the birds.

I’m so glad I was able to do this for her and I really hope she enjoys them forever. Can’t wait to see them on canvas!

I will have sooooo many photos to share this week as I edit my way through a mountain of mini-sessions. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Don’t Feed the Ducks

Filed under: Children — generationsphotography @ 8:42 pm

We started this session by having these adorable toddlers feed the ducks. The teeny tiny “Please don’t feed the ducks” sign was seen just after the ducks finished feasting on an entire loaf of bread. I’m pretty sure the ducks swam away quacking, “SUCKERS!”

It was similar to shooting triplets, although the sweet lil’ girl isn’t actually the twins’ sister, she acts like she is. They were so cute together. It was a fun morning at a beautiful location and I LOVED the end of our session when they “played” the sticks. I got the best captures during that little bit of down time.

Have a wonderful week!

Steam engines are worth the wait. Toot! Toot!

Filed under: Children, Family — generationsphotography @ 3:29 am

Building a train… Logan says.

I love how his coat is buttoned incorrectly.

He’s a busy man…

Annabelle makes this gesture every time she hears something. I want to remember this always, it’s cuteness overload!

At long last… the steam engine. It was LOUD!

Hallo Deutschland!

Filed under: Uncategorized — generationsphotography @ 7:27 pm

As most of you know, we just returned from our long-awaited trip to Germany with the kids. I have been so excited to share our journey with you through pics. Granted, there were limited opportunities for me to lug around my big DSLR. And at times, I actually chose not to. All in all though, I think the moments I DID capture will forever be remembered, and that’s what I LOVE about photography.

We were lucky enough to stay with some amazing friends there. They took on quite a job with two kids under four in tow, let me tell ya! I feel for them, I really do. It must have felt like an invasion, really! But, we are forever grateful for their love and hospitality. You are all welcome to stay (invade) us anytime.

One thing Chris and I learned on this trip, (among many things!) is that vacations are great for family bonding. The way our children grew, changed, and nurtured each other was worth the hefty price tag, looooong plane rides, and sleepless nights. And, although we didn’t always get along on the trip, Chris and I really had to team up to make it the best experience possible. Good job, honey. I commend you!

My Best,

JennaStunning Duesseldorf

Day with our dear friends. Logan met this little gal when he was just a few weeks old!

Oh yes, the Autobahn!

Schloss in Stuttgart

It’s really Fall!

Trains EVERYWHERE. Logan was thrilled!

Bike and pedestrian friendly… for real. Whatever Tucson!

LEAVES!

Poor Woody, he’s been through a lot.

Our gracious hosts, Benjamin and Melanie…THANK YOU! Also, Sarah and Vesna loaned us a car while there and I was lucky enough to do a family session for them. You can check that out at McBride Family

Spaetzle! Yummm!

Logan rode a roller coaster for the first time. I was truly scared during the ride, so it shocked me that he loved it.

The kids fell asleep in the car, so I Mama got a little solo shooting in.

The parks are soooo much fun there, so much to do and super interactive. Chris falling asleep with Annie was definitely a high point for me. ♥

Lounging around before heading out to the park… again.

Our other gracious hosts, Matthias and Svetlana. THANK YOU! (They’re expecting their own lil’ wee one in a few months)  We let them practice pushing our stroller. 😉

He picked me a flower. My sweet, sweet boy.

Aufwiedersehen Deutshland!

Lovin’ the Wagon!

Filed under: Children, Family — generationsphotography @ 7:53 pm

When I was two, my parents had photos taken of me in a portrait studio with overalls on and a little red wagon. It’s absurdly cute, no joke! And guess what, little red wagons are STILL cute! This wagon is old, rusty, and beat up (hit by the car a few times, whoops), but that makes it even MORE awesome. It was also found in my Aunt Darlene’s backyard after she passed away, so it’s special.

This little guy was actually very tired during our session, but luckily he couldn’t hold back a grin when I started singing, “If You’re Happy and You Know It!” He was downright happy! So cute.

A big thank you to Mom and Dad for humoring me when I asked you to do what seemed impossible with him at times. I think our hard work paid off in the end. 😉

My Best,

Jenna♥

McBride Family

Filed under: Children, Family — generationsphotography @ 7:42 pm

It’s been a crazy two weeks over here in photography land. I don’t even know how many photos I’ve taken in the past two weeks, but three SD cards later, I am sure to have a bit of work ahead of me in the coming weeks.

While in Germany, I had the privilege to do a session with the adorable McBride family. I met them almost ten years ago, before kids, before marriage, so it’s so exciting to see how we’ve grown since then.

These photos were taken in a park dedicated to hoofed wildlife. I have never seen a petting zoo of this sort, but it was pretty cool to see Reindeer, Moose, and Yaks up close. We found a secluded path and snapped away. The colors of the leaves are just breathtaking to me. It was quite a treat to experience a session in a place where Fall really does exist!

The Great Family Swap

Filed under: Children, Family — generationsphotography @ 3:58 am

It was our second annual family photo swap, and I’m pretty sure we nailed the location. Sure, there were mad mosquitoes flying about and a crazy rush to get both our families photographed before the sunlight faded, but alas…

It is difficult, I think, to find a photographer who “gets” the type of photographs you’re after for your family. So, I feel extremely lucky to have not only found a gifted photographer to take my family pictures each year, but also a friend that can understand my passion for photography.

Additionally, feel truly honored that I am the “chosen one” to shoot her family sessions each year. It’s fun to collaborate and get inspired. Now without further ado…

My Best,

 Jenna

Achilles

Filed under: Newborn, Uncategorized — generationsphotography @ 10:42 pm

After a good feeding, or two… maybe it was three… Anyway, this sweet lil’ guy didn’t mind me snapping away and moving him from here to there. He was so peaceful!

Achilles and I have quite a special bond, I was honored to help his sweet Mama through her labor with him. To put it mildly, it was breathtaking. Such a great family, and what a great big sister he has. You can see more of this family during their maternity session.

My Best,

 Jenna ♥

Linaman Family

Filed under: Family, Uncategorized — generationsphotography @ 10:07 pm

Oh my! I will be playing a bit of catch-up today, and for a while I fear. If you haven’t been following my updates on Facebook, you might possible be wondering if I am still taking pictures. Well, YES I definitely am and luckily I’ve just been sooo busy with photographing and editing, I haven’t had much time to blog. But, before the rush of Fall, I must get somewhat caught up.

I’m really hoping that by the end of the year, I will be able to offer many more types of sessions, packages, and helpful tools to help you prepare for your sessions. My goal is for 2012 to be packed FULL of unique and creative sessions that have a pinch of magic in each and every one.

So, moving on to the fun stuff… PHOTOS! This family has two amazingly adorable children. Even though we couldn’t coax sweet big sister into smooching her brother, we still got a few of them together. We had a great time running and pretending daddy was a horse. (He was such a sport!)

Enjoy!My Best,

Jenna ♥
